Once a year the chapter gathers the people who teach, research and practise intelligence in Africa in one place, hosted by a member institution.
Purpose
What the conference is for
Placeholder. The chapter’s first conference has not yet been held. This page describes what is planned, and will carry real dates, a venue and a programme once they are settled.
Academic conferences in this field tend to be held far from the people doing the work in Africa, and the cost of attending one decides who gets heard. The chapter’s conference is held on the continent and hosted by a member institution, rotating so that the burden and the benefit move around.
It is deliberately mixed. Academics present papers, practitioners say what they actually need from graduates, and students present posters and get argued with by people who will later employ them. That mix is the point, and it is the part hardest to get from a journal.
Programme

Each edition is built around the same three strands, so that a paper always has somewhere to go.
